John Francis Haden Tillman

John F. H. Tillman was born on September 19, 1842 in Copiah County, Mississippi(1). He was the grandfather of Elmer Tillman. John served in the Confederate Army in the 6th Mississippi Infantry, Company F, also called the Crystal Springs Guards. He married Martha Ann Sandifer in 1867, and they had at least twelve children: George K., Martha Lena, Robert Edgar, Ruth Beatrice, Melissa Arline, Ben Grover, John Sexton, Fannie Belie, Ernest Emmett, Dudley Dampeer, and Oscar Joseph, the father of Elmer Tillman.
