Mrs. Hannah Elizabeth Wagner

Mrs. Hannah Elizabeth Wagner, 82, of 139 Nesbit Street, widow of George W. Wagner, died in the Franklin Hospital at 1:50 a.m. today following a lingering illness. Mrs. Wagner had been a patient in the hospital for the past five and one-half months.

She was born in Franklin, April 22, 1875, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Haggerty Shawgo. She was reared in Franklin, attending schools of the community.

She was united in marriage with Henry Wilt McCoy in 1895. The family lived in Franklin for a short time and moved to Tidioute. They resided in Warren and Forest Counties until 1918 when they moved to Dravosburg. Mr. McCoy died in 1938.

Mrs. McCoy met and married Ernest Rodgers of Franklin and moved to the Buttermilk Hill district in 1943. Mr. Rodgers died in 1944.

She was united in marriage with George W. Wagner in 1947. Mr. Wagner died February 4, 1957.

Mrs. Wagner was a member of the First Free Methodist Chruch of Franklin. She was well-known and had a host of friends in the Franklin area.

She is survived by the following children: Rev. John H. McCoy, of Warren, Pa.; Mrs. Ralph (Ann) Buck, and Mrs. Leroy (Laura) DeLong, both of Franklin; Mrs. Alvin (Hazel) Black, Clairton, Pa.; Merle, Raymond, Lyle and Cecil McCoy, of McKeesport, Pa.; and Robert McCoy of West Mifflin.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ella Watt, of Rocky Grove; three step-children, Mrs. Hazel Rodgers Card, Robert Rogers and Charles Ellsworth Wagner, of Franklin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 10, 1957, at 2 p.m. Rev. Harry Roushey, pastor of the First Free Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by Dr. B. E. Coleman, pastor of the First Evangelical United Brethern Church. Internment was made in the Franklin Cemetery.
