This is our kitchen from 2003, when we lived on Tulls Creek Rd. in Moyock. Look at my sponge work on the wall 🙂 That was when I was still using the above-stove “crate” with things inside it.  I had used that on and off for years, starting in the mid-70’s, can you believe that? Other notable items include the antique Stangl plate, owl cookie jar, crock, and glass canisters, all which we still have. -LM
Upcycled Canisters for our Kitchen
I wanted to add some custom elements to our kitchen, and I decided on upcycling a trio of old wooden canisters. I found the perfect ones on eBay (where else?), and also found iron birds that were already painted and rusty– perfect! I distressed the wood with candle wax and cream paint, added the birds. Then I found a similar utensil caddy and a cool iron dove to place on it. They all will look even better once we get our backsplash in.
